FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS.
What is a cat sanctuary?
A cat sanctuary is a haven for homeless, abandoned, or abused cats. It provides a safe and nurturing environment where cats receive food, shelter, medical care, and love. Although some sanctuaries aim to find permanent homes for their residents through adoption, Little Rascals Cat Sanctuary does not offer an adoption process. Instead, we aim to provide a lifelong refuge and fur-ever home for our furry residents.
Do you accept all cats?
Our cat sanctuary is a compassionate haven for cats that are unable to find and/or sustain homes elsewhere. We prioritize the well-being of those who cannot be rehomed due to age, health, or behavioral issues. At Little Rascals, cats receive lifelong care, ensuring they live comfortably and happily in a loving environment. Cats and kittens that are considered adoptable, are referred to Homeward Bound Animal Shelter in Manistee, MI.
How do we define "adoptable"
Adoptable cats are typically healthy, well-socialized, and exhibit friendly temperaments. They may range from kittens to adult cats, and vary by breed and appearance, but they share qualities that make them suitable for finding homes. These cats are often spayed/neutered, vaccinated, litter-trained, and ready to become cherished companions for individuals or families seeking feline companionship.
How are the cat's medical needs met?
All of the cats in the sanctuary are spayed/neutered and have had their shots. They receive medical care from the good folks at Manistee Veterinary Hospital.
Does the organization have paid employees?
Little Rascals operates with a volunteer staff and Board of Directors. There are no paid employees.
